About the Role

We are looking for a Machine Learning Intern who is passionate about AI/ML and eager to work on real-world production problems.

This opportunity is primarily intended for fresh graduates and early-career candidates who have a strong foundation in machine learning and hands-on exposure to areas such as LLMs, RAG, NLP, or deep learning through academic projects, internships, or personal projects.

You’ll work closely with our team to build and improve AI systems, develop ML pipelines, experiment with models, and contribute to scalable backend services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll get exposure to the complete ML lifecycle, from experimentation and evaluation to deployment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning and LLM-based models for real-world use cases.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, including data ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, and retrieval.
• Integrate LLMs with vector databases and backend systems.
• Assist in building ML pipelines following modern MLOps practices.
• Experiment with different models, techniques, and approaches to improve system performance.
• Evaluate model outputs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to model deployment, monitoring, and versioning.
• Write clean, reproducible, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to solve practical AI problems.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals, including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP, and basic statistics.
• Hands-on exposure to RAG architectures through projects or practical work.
• Familiarity with LLMs and transformer-based models such as GPT, LLaMA, or similar models.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Proficiency in Python and common ML/data libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
• Basic understanding of MLOps concepts and the ML lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD.
• Knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, or Weaviate.
• Experience building and deploying ML/AI projects.
• Contributions to Kaggle, open-source projects, research, or technical communities.
• Strong academic, personal, or final-year projects in AI/ML.

Duration & Potential Opportunity

The internship will be for up to 3 months and will be unpaid.

Based on the candidate’s performance, contribution, and mutual fit with the team, there may be an opportunity to continue with Dheera beyond the internship, including consideration for a longer-term or full-time role.
