Software Engineer, Distributed Systems & AI Infrastructure

Omara Technologies builds data infrastructure for governments and highly regulated institutions. Our platform helps agencies prevent fraud, improve last-mile delivery, and automate clerical work at scale.

The Team

We're a small team from Yale, UPenn, and the University of Sydney. We value technical rigor, ownership, and the ability to ship under pressure.

What You'll Build

AI Infrastructure Own post-training pipelines, evaluation systems, and production inference for high-stakes environments.

Privacy-preserving data systems. Design systems that enforce data sovereignty, purpose-limited access, auditability, and secure computation across sensitive datasets.

Resilient distributed infrastructure. Build offline-first systems that operate across unreliable networks, reconcile conflicting state, and deploy local models using K3s, vLLM, or TGI.

Requirements

• Strong foundations in operating systems, networking, and distributed systems
• Familiarity with consensus, CRDTs, event sourcing, or related synchronization models
• Hands-on experience with model quantization, evaluation, and inference optimization
• Proficiency in Go and Kubernetes, including K3s or similar edge distributions
• Experience with analytical or vector databases such as ClickHouse, Pinecone, or Weaviate
• A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another quantitative field from a highly selective institution (IIT, IIIT-H or equivalent)
