About the job

Moms First is a national nonprofit leading the fight for America’s moms. We are driven by our belief that motherhood is the unfinished business of gender equality. Founded by Reshma Saujani in 2021 at the height of the pandemic, our community of moms and supporters is 1.1 million strong and committed to fighting for a world where moms are valued and supported in our workplaces, communities, and culture.

Moms First is seeking a Social Media manager to expand our organic reach through innovative social content and campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this newly created role will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive, best-in-class social strategy across all channels, managing daily posts and engagement with our community, and using analytics tools to report on and optimize our content.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience managing professional social media accounts for brands, causes, or influencers. You are “chronically online” and the first to adopt new trends and technology. You are an excellent writer with experience adopting a brand voice for an executive and/or organization. You passionately believe that social media can be used as a megaphone for good. Above all, you are eager to deliver engaging, informative content to our moms and allies that empowers them to take action in their communities.

The Moms First team is remote, with a hybrid work option for New York City based team members. This role may be performed virtually, however we prefer candidates based in the NYC-metro area. If remote, candidates must be willing to travel and be based near a major airport with direct flights to NY, DC, and LA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience managing professional social media profiles and campaigns for mission-driven organizations or creators
  • Expertise managing multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Experience with social monitoring and analysis tools and using data insights to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Expertise with design and video editing platforms such as Photoshop, InDesign, SparkPost, CapCut, Canva
  • Experience building a creator or influencer program and expertise in identifying, vetting, briefing, and managing creators
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, organization, and attention to detail
  • Innovative spirit and willingness to try new things, pivot, and learn from mistakes
  • Team player who relishes a good “roll up your sleeves” moment; brings a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Passionate about storytelling across channels and savvy about social media
  • Committed to the mission of finishing the fight for women’s equality and the values of diversity, equity and inclusion
