We are building an intelligent early detection system for patient care – a $100B market in the US alone. Based in Palo Alto, our team is passionate, talented, and obsessed about customers. We feel fortunate to be able to build a platform that is building a measurable impact on the daily lives of patients and providers. We are looking for a highly motivated and startup minded UI/UX Designer to join our tight-knit team to build the next unicorn in healthcare. As a core team member, you will take on a leadership role in our design efforts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to craft
intuitive and engaging web and mobile experiences. Your strong user research skills will be essential in understanding our audience, defining user segments, and ensuring that our product resonates with users. We are looking for a part-time employee to start at 10 hours a week and gradually work its way up to full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights about user needs, behaviours, and pain points. Create user personas and journey maps to inform design decisions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications. Ensure a consistent and user-friendly design across platforms.
- Design sensibilities to create brochures, marketing materials, and advertisements, both in print and digitally.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
- Plan and conduct usability tests to validate design concepts and gather user feedback, iterating designs based on findings.
- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
- Advocate for the prioritization of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing web and mobile projects.
- Demonstrates a strong founder’s mentality by taking full ownership of outcomes over outputs.
- Ensures the quality and success of their work, as well as the broader impact on related areas.
- Proven experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to translate findings into actionable design improvements.
- Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Experience with motion graphics (Apple Motion, After Effects, etc.) for various media
- Strong understanding of interaction design principles, visual design, and usability best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn and collaborate within a team environment, while also possessing the self-motivation to work independently.
- Ability to work within our specified hours to ensure team collaboration and project continuity.
- Experience using Slack and online video tools for effective team communication and collaboration.
- Prompt and thoughtful responses to questions and feedback to ensure smooth workflow and project success.
