Job description:

The Director of Strategic Partnerships will drive two critical areas of growth at Pinata:

Channel Partnerships: Establish and manage channel partnerships (including but not limited to value-added resellers (VARs), affiliates, referral partners) that deliver mutually beneficial partnerships.
Loyalty, Rewards, and Brand Marketplace: Develop partnerships that enhance our value proposition for renters and other key stakeholders. secure high-value brand relationships, enhancing our rewards program while managing the financial aspects in collaboration with our accounting team.

This is a unique role as it spans across two different parts of the business. Consequently, this role demands a strategic and versatile leader with experience in building, scaling, and managing partnerships in a technology or SaaS environment but also experienced with brands and loyalty programs. In addition to the executive team, this role will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Marketing and other internal stakeholders to define and execute partnership strategies that generate revenue, elevate customer value, and expand our ecosystem.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic program development:

  • Build a long-term roadmap for our brand partnerships, developing strategies that grow Piñata’s loyalty offerings and align with our renter demographic and support Piñata’s goals.
  • Drive innovation within the rewards program, exploring new pilot initiatives and creative ways to engage both users and brand partners.
  • Maintain a deep awareness of successful loyalty and rewards programs in other industries, applying best practices to enhance our approach.
  • Continue to support the evolution of our channel partnerships strategy
  • Act as the subject matter expert on loyalty, ensuring the rewards program is both engaging and cost-effective.

Pipeline and execution management:

  • Researching and identify best in class partners that add value across stakeholders and within our ecosystem
  • Develop and drive a partner-sourced pipeline and revenues, from defining value propositions and objectives through to deployment
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new partners, ensuring accurate contract execution and integration with our product features.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, finance, and operations teams to align partnership goals
  • Cultivate a strong understanding of industry trends and competitor programs, leveraging insights to inform strategy and keep our offerings competitive.
  • Lead the negotiation of channel and brand partnership agreements
  • Secure cost-neutral brand contributions (e.g., free items) and revenue-generating rewards that provide commission fees to Piñata.
  • Structure win-win channel partnership agreements that contemplates our partners business model and GTM approach
  • Manage relationships with existing partners, ensuring ongoing engagement, accurate reporting, and high levels of satisfaction.
  • Track and report on partnership performance, utilizing data to refine strategies, enhance the user experience, and drive growth.
  • Work with the accounting and tax teams to ensure that all financial aspects of brand partnerships align with company policies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in sourcing, driving, structuring, negotiating, executing and implementing partnerships
  • This includes channel partnerships, brand partnerships, loyalty programs, affiliate marketing, or related fields
  • Must have experience in e-commerce, affiliate marketing and loyalty program management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of direct dealmaking with large companies and brands.
  • Ability to work with finance, accounting, and tax teams to ensure partnership structures align with financial and compliance standards.
  • Proven project management skills, with a history of leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for building lasting professional relationships.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience tracking and analyzing key performance metrics to optimize partnership strategies.
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments, particularly within technology or PropTech, is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, or a related field.

Compensation
$120,000 - 150,000 base salary plus commission/bonus
