Where we are now:

  • Our product launched in September 2023 and serves freelancers and remote workers in the Philippines receiving payments from the U.S.
  • The team and our founders were featured on Forbes, TechCrunch, Tatler, Inquirer, BusinessInsider, and several other publications. Mika, our CEO is a Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee.
  • As of December 2023, we are processing seven figures USD of payments per month across our early userbase.
  • We have a small (< 10 humans) and tight knit team distributed across the globe.

What You’ll Do

  • Data Analysis: Dive into our data to extract actionable insights that inform key product and business decisions. You'll be a whiz with Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools, able to turn complex data sets into clear, compelling charts and reports and stories.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the company, from product development to compliance, to enhance our documentation, refine processes, and improve our operational rigor and efficiency. Your systems thinking will help streamline operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Ensure our financial records are accurate and up-to-date by reconciling product financial activity with vendor information and our P&L from accounting. For example, you'll be coordinating with various vendors to confirm billing and other critical details.
  • Vendor Coordination: Reach out to and manage relationships with key vendors, ensuring all necessary information is gathered, billing is accurate, and any discrepancies are resolved promptly. You’ll also help us source and do due diligence on the right vendors for our products, including on/off ramp partners, card processors and the like.
  • Strategic Leadership & Support: Assist leadership on high-impact strategic initiatives. You'll be the go-to person for ad-hoc projects that require a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of our business operations. As we grow, you see yourself graduating to become a Chief of Staff in the company, assisting the exec team in key opportunities.
  • Project Management: Oversee multi-department projects, coordinating efforts between dev, compliance, customer support, and other teams to ensure everything runs smoothly. When issues arise that require dev assistance, you’ll be the one to keep everything on track and ensure priorities are aligned.
  • Operational Glue: Be the person who ties together all the critical aspects of our business that aren't easily automated. You'll be essential to systemizing and optimizing these processes, making our operations more efficient and scalable.

Who You Are

  • You have a startup mentality – adaptable, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, with a recent MBA being a plus but not required.
  • You possess a sharp eye for detail and a strong inclination toward systems thinking.
  • You're extremely proficient with Excel and SQL, and you have a deep familiarity with the usual startup metrics and SaaS tools.
  • You're a natural collaborator, able to work effectively with diverse teams across the company.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you’re expected to take initiative and think on your feet.
  • You have strong communication skills that can compel our partners and future ones to work with us.

Our Process

The goal of the hiring process is for both sides to decide on mutual fit.

We believe the best way to do that is to make the process as close to “real work” as possible while staying respectful of each other’s time, AKA a work sample. That way, we all get a sense of what it’s like to work together.

End to end, our interview cycle looks like this:

  • Phone screen (20-30 min): Standard opening phone screen. We make sure expectations are aligned and talk about past work, what we’re looking for in the role, what’s next, etc.
  • Work sample (scoped for 4-6h): The prompt will be a light version of a task that you might see in day to day work. For example, we might ask you to analyze .csv’s with transaction info.
  • Followup (60 min): We’ll walk through the work sample and ask you related questions testing your communication skills, strategic business thinking, how you tackle similar problems + solutions and also probe on some product thinking.
  • Behavioral chat (45 min): The main focus here is evaluating cultural fit and getting any pressing questions answered.
    • If additional follow-ups are necessary beyond this behavioral chat, we’ll let you know as well.
  • References: Possibly 1 or 2 references, but for the most part, making a decision from there.
  • Offer/Anti-Sell: We’ll hand the offer but also go through what we call an “Anti-Sell” convo - basically detailing not just the good but the challenges & realities of the startup life that we expect to go through along the way. We want to be realistic about the journey you’re taking on but also know that you’re excited regardless!
