Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to build out Godel - a professional web-based financial terminal software offering comprehensive financial and investment data. More info at app.godelterminal.com.

Stack:

• Frontend: TypeScript, React, WebSockets, Web Workers
• Backend: JVM, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes
• Database: Postgres, Clickhouse

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate efficient APIs and data services for real-time financial data
• Developing, benchmarking, and owning data-intensive UI components
• Work closely with product managers and designers to translate business requirements and user feedback into effective, user-friendly features
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the frontend application in various browsers and environments

Requirements:

• NYC residence or willingness to relocate
• Strong written communication skills
• TypeScript experience
• Extensive knowledge of React lifecycle and virtual DOM
• Experience building high-performance, data-intensive web UIs in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with HTML Canvas, or other 2D drawing frameworks (D3, SVG)
• A game programmer’s approach to performance optimization
• Experience using the WebKit/Chrome profiler to debug memory leaks and remove unnecessary performance overhead

Nice to have:

• Some backend experience that aligns with our stack
• Production experience compiling and running WASM on the browser
• Experience with financial information systems

Our offer:
