About the job
UnVale (https://unvale.io) is one of the fastest-growing social platforms for creatives. Whether you’re a writer looking to launch a sci-fi novel, an illustrator working on a massive webtoon, or you have dreams of creating the next hit anime show on Netflix, UnVale is where you start from day 1. Users can develop their story while they grow a following, and we now have over 800k social interactions on our platform each month!
We are looking for someone to lead the growth of our blog and editorial content creation, meant to inform users, provide insight and inspiration, and help them grow as creatives. Our community is inclusive, diverse, progressive, and ambitious, and we want our editorial pieces to help them develop their skills so they can fulfill their dreams. You having personally gone through this journey of self-development as a digital artist, illustrator, and writer is a big plus! So if you feel “seen” by this job posting–but are also confident you could improve the writing–we would love to talk to you!!!
Who we’re looking for
Strong writing skills - Multiple examples of writing compelling and educational articles/guides. Ability to explain creative and artistic processes, themes, and structure. Ability to clearly synthesize and summarize guides for creatives, best practices, software and tooling to use. Fast and succinct–and zero AI generated writing allowed!!!
Basic understanding of SEO - Building in repeatable frameworks for developing bodies of educational content that will rank well on google. We want users to be able to find the resources they need that you have created! This is not a pre-requisite, and we can help learn best practices here. Being well organized and moving fast is key.
Ability to work with other creatives - While you would be contributing individually to UnVale’s editorial content, we also want you to engage with our community for paid guest writing opportunities. Ideally this role would soon move to leading a small editorial team to develop larger bodies of content and resources for early creatives to get them from day one to published works on UnVale.
Conscientious and thoughtful- We love our community. We have some of the most talented, diverse, and positive people in the world on UnVale, and we want everyone on our team to be an ambassador for these amazing people. Elevate the right voices, stand on your values, and be conscious about how content can trigger, devalue, or dismiss others. Always consider the wellbeing of artists and creatives when suggesting tools, guides, or creators to follow.
A risk taker - At the end of the day, early-stage startups are high-risk/high-reward; UnVale is no exception. By joining our team this early, you have a chance to grow with us beyond this part-time role! If you think you can make a huge impact from day one, and working with a group of like-minded folks from the ground up sounds exciting, you might be who we’re searching for.
What we’re building
UnVale is where the next generation of storytellers develop entire worlds of content, grow their audience, and publish the next big hit. Aspiring writers, illustrators, and animators can grow their fanbase from day one as they build the next Star Wars, Game of Thrones, or Marvel Comic Universe. While today’s prominent social media platforms prioritize short-form video content stuffed full of ads, UnVale focuses on helping young creatives break down long-form content into easy-to-digest pieces (like characters, maps, chapters, and timelines). We actively discourage and remove generative AI on our platform as well, instead relying on human-powered creativity to shape the top media franchises of tomorrow. We’ve had over 700% user growth this year, three million social interactions, and over one million pieces of original content created on UnVale!
