About the role:
We are looking for an experienced sales professional, ideally with open source experience who will be selling into enterprise accounts. The ideal candidate has been a part of the sales efforts for other early-stage enterprise software products in an entrepreneurial setting. The Enterprise Account Executive will be integral to our growth plan and in acquiring new customers. Kong’s Account Executive will be the primary point of contact and the face of Kong for our prospects.
This role is based in Mumbai, India.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Sell Kong Enterprise Platform to enterprise customers by developing and executing a pipeline generation strategy that will create a viable and long-term business.
- Meet individual quotas and objectives.
- Responsible for assigned territory account planning and forecasting.
- Take ownership of your book of business, which includes understanding and documenting the buying criteria and process, determining the appropriate motion and patterns, ensuring pipeline accuracy based on evidence, and working the leads to closure.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a seamless sales experience and alignment with customer needs.
- Represent Kong most professionally and support our customers to the best of your ability.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required (30% - 50%).
What You’ll Bring:
- A true desire to see customers benefit from the investment they make with Kong.
- 5 years or more of experience in selling enterprise software; experience with open source, middleware solutions, and/or infrastructure software is a big plus.
- Demonstrated success in selling to large enterprises and Banking and Financial Services, particularly to senior-level executives and across multiple departments.
- Ability to leverage established relationships and proven sales techniques for success.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, taking ownership of your sales territory and adapting to changing market dynamics.
- Analytical and strategic thinking, with a knack for identifying business growth opportunities and devising plans to capitalize on them.
- Effective communicator and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
