Vice President - Engineering

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a seasoned VP of Engineering to lead our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, architecting, and delivering scalable and extendable systems in a SaaS product environment. As a VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for the overall technical direction of our products, ensuring the implementation of best coding practices, and driving successful tech delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Leadership:

• Define the long-term technical vision and strategy for the engineering organization, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives.
• Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team.
• Oversee the development and implementation of technical roadmaps and project plans.

1. Team Management:

• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 30+ members.
• Recruit and hire top engineering talent to build a world-class team.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.

1. Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical guidance and expertise across various engineering domains, including system design, architecture, and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, software design, and quality assurance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

1. Product Development:

• Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to define and deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs.
• Ensure the efficient and effective execution of engineering projects, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
• Drive continuous improvement in product development processes and methodologies.

1. System Architecture and Design:

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable and extensible backend systems, aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as security and data privacy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years of experience in a VP of Engineering or similar role.
• 4+ years of experience in AI/ML.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Stellar experience in system design and architecture, particularly in SaaS product companies.
• Proven track record of leading and managing large engineering teams.
• Proven experience of managing Senior Tech Leads.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Python, as well as experience with relevant frameworks and technologies (e.g., Springboot, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, GCP).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with system compliance in SaaS product companies.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
