The role and opportunity
The Customer Marketing Manager will be a core role within the Customer Marketing team. Designing, building and optimising campaigns focused on inspiring people to think differently about money and how they plan for their future. Working closely with our copywriter, designer and email marketing exec you’ll be leading the charge on building and optimising content campaigns to convert customers into our services (e.g. financial planning, mortgages, investing and pension consolidation).
Day to day you will be:
- Building and overseeing our calendar of content, that will engage new customers and strengthen brand love with existing customers.
- Briefing our in-house copywriters and designers, in addition to producing some creative content yourself.
- Uncover insight into our customers to drive more relevant messaging and inspire world-class storytelling.
- Designing and implementing campaigns to promote additional services to our customers – then measuring the results.
- Building nurture journeys to convert customers into our services (e.g. mortgages, investing, pension consolidation).
- Working with other Octopus businesses (including Amicable and Octopus Legacy) to develop customer journeys between our services.
- Making searchability and quality of written blog content/website content for SEO as good as it can be, refining our tone of voice and the ways we talk about money topics along the way.
About You
Ambitious marketer
You might be a senior exec taking on your first manager role or a marketing or content manager looking for a new challenge.
A passion for content marketing
You have a passion for content marketing, and coming up with creative ways to use content to nurture, entertain and educate audience segments throughout the customer lifecycle.
Strategic thinking, and hands-on
Not only do you have great strategic thinking skills, you also like to get stuck in with implementing those, and have lots of hands-on experience too.
Creative and customer centric
You’re experienced in building creative and engaging customer centric campaigns across a variety of channels including blog, video, email, web, in-product and social media.
A problem solver
You are naturally curious – a problem solver – and love finding creative ways to meet business objectives.
Analytical mindset
You’ve got an appetite for digging into the data and identifying areas of opportunity – with previous experience using analytics software such as Google Analytics and Excel.
Knowledge required
- At least 3-4 years experience as a B2C Marketing Executive or equivalent
- You have experience working in a financial services or fintech business and a strong foundation of financial literacy.
- You have previous experience developing creative content ideas and strategies to support conversion, product engagement and retention.
In return for your contribution we offer a base salary of £45,000-£50,000 DOE + benefits
