Founding Frontend Engineer

Q is a new operating system around AI agents. Our aim is to make it extremely easy to have back and forth interactions with AI models as you would with other human beings.

We are building the product by solving our own problems: building up a knowledge base, communication & collaboration between teammates & ais.

You will build new features and maintain our client facing desktop application. The focus is on speed/performance, simplifying user experience, with a pinch of delight.

Responsibilities:

• Produce clean, well structured code that reflects sound ideas & architecture

• You will own large pieces of the code base centered around your skills, interests & business needs

• Expertise with modern front-end frameworks (eg. Vue/React)

• Working with AI models / event-passing / streaming & async type ux

• Dynamic UIs / modern component libraries (eg. Shadcn)

• Deep understanding of the DOM & how the internet works.

• You are an elite programmer: as a measure of speed and quality

• You can clearly communicate technical trade-offs, often to a second or third-order effect

• You prefer small and fast environments with clear problem statements and a broad space to reason about solutions

Note: this is for engineers #1 & 2. Given the breadth of scope, we are looking for examples of deep technical ability, often born out of, but not restricted to experience—strong CS fundamentals, software architecture, some form of expertise on either the frontend or backend.
