About the job
Develo is a seed-stage startup aiming to advance pediatric health by building cloud-native SaaS for pediatric providers and their patients & families. Our mission is to drive improved pediatric practice and health outcomes by building a comprehensive solution that features transparent, effective, and secure workflows with the clinical record at its core. The pediatric population constitutes roughly 1/3 of the population in the US — their health is fundamental to the welfare of future generations and is underserved by existing solutions.
The challenges we face are deep and diverse. We create digital experiences that provide comfort and clarity to pediatricians and the families they care for, maintain an interoperable clinical system of record that is both secure and accessible, orchestrate billing rules engines to ensure practices are paid their due on time, train and reinforce ML-driven workflow automation so pediatricians can focus on what’s most important: their patients.
As a senior engineer, you will have ownership and influence over the technological stack that spans backend, web, distributed systems, data science and internal tooling. You will be part of an early team of passionate high-achievers, working closely with the CEO and CTO to bring Develo’s mission to life. You will architect, lead, and execute technical builds that are significant to Develo’s roadmap. This position is 100% remote.
What you’ll be doing:
- Your most important responsibility is to bring Develo’s product to market while balancing quality and execution speed. This will involve writing and reviewing a lot of code across the entire stack coupled with quick, effective decision making
- Make key architectural contributions to shape the technology stack, including defining best practices, strategizing around technical debt, and considering when to build or buy
- Build delightful and accessible user experiences that reimagine how our users interact with clinical data and workflows
- Influence the product roadmap by working closely with the CEO to capture user metrics, discuss feasibility, and negotiate project requirements / priority
- Mentor and inspire your fellow engineers in a culture that focuses as much internally as it does externally
- Gain exposure to all aspects of a startup business – from sales and customer success to strategy and beyond.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of development experience working on production software solutions
- Strong communication skills coupled with work ethic, grit, integrity, and passion
- Ownership mindset with the ability to operate with ambiguity
- Experience designing systems from scratch, taking them from 0 - 1, and scaling them
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team to balance product and technical requirements.
Perks:
- Health insurance (medical, dental, vision)
- Paid time off (uncapped vacation and paid holidays)
- Maternity and paternity leave
- 401(k) contribution (we contribute 3% of your income even if you don't contribute)
- Fully remote with annual team on-site
