Systems Engineer - II

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer II to join our engineering team. As a Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure that support our business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of system architecture, hands-on experience with various IT systems, and the ability to work on complex projects in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and manage complex systems and infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
2. Integrate various hardware, software, and networking components to create cohesive systems that meet business requirements.
3. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems for reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
4. Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and threats.
5. Develop and deploy automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
6. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure accurate knowledge sharing and continuity.
7. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including backup and restoration procedures, to ensure business continuity.
8. Work closely with software engineers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure system integration and alignment with business needs.
9. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve system architecture and processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong track record of managing complex systems and infrastructure.
3. Proficiency in system administration (e.g., Linux, Windows) and networking protocols.
4. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
5. Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
6. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
7. Knowledge of storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
9. Strong organizational and documentation skills.
10. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
