About the job

Salary Range: Based on experience

Job Summary: As RYSE’s Quality Systems and R&D Manager, you will have the opportunity to support RYSE’s manufacturing operations by innovating, developing, and managing robust quality systems while being responsible for product development from conceptualization to commercialization.

Responsibilities:

Lead research and development initiatives for new products, improving existing products, and exploring innovate technologies and formulas that coincide with customer preferences and market demands

Develop and refine comprehensive quality management systems that controls for and assesses on quality and consistency standards such as ingredient and material inspections, sampling, stability and shelf-life testing, traceability and recall procedures, sanitation and hygiene checks, and other practices

Establish a practice of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes, identifying areas of improvement, and enacting corrective and preventive actions to address root causes of quality concerns

Ensure compliance with food and beverage safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures throughout the product development process including ingredient sourcing, labeling, and packaging

Work with cross-functional teams for defining project objectives, timelines, and resource requirements

Document QA/QC/R&D procedures and processes for repeatability and scalability

Education and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field

Experience in a quality management role within the food manufacturing industry

In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g. HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.)

Strong understanding of quality assurance, control, and continuous improvement methodologies

Standout Qualifications:

Advanced degree in relevant fields (e.g. MS, PhD, etc.)

Previous experience working with sports nutrition products and supplements
