Summary:

Barsys, a frontrunner in cocktail crafting technology, is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller with CPA certification and bookkeeping expertise for our New York City office. The Controller will play a vital role in overseeing the financial operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting, finance management, and a proven track record in similar roles, along with the ability to handle bookkeeping tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management and Oversight: Manage all aspects of Barsys' financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and bookkeeping.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports. Analyze financial data for informed business decision-making and provide insights on financial performance.
• Bookkeeping: Oversee and perform detailed bookkeeping tasks, including managing ledgers, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Budget and Cash Flow Management: Oversee budget preparation and management; monitor cash flow, forecasting, and liquidity.
• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and lead annual audits; ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• Strategic Financial Planning: Contribute to strategic planning with financial insights to support business growth and strategic direction.
  Qualifications:

• Mandatory CPA certification.**

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or similar is preferred.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in a controller position with bookkeeping responsibilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and bookkeeping practices.

• Experience managing audits and compliance with accounting standards.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in team management.

• Proficiency in accounting software, bookkeeping tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
