Revival Hub Overview:

We are a discovery platform that lists every repertory, independent, and specialty movie screening in Los Angeles. Film fans come to Revival Hub to discover unique movie-going experiences: a Q&A screening with their favorite director, a rooftop screening of a nostalgic 80s movie, or an an all-night horror movie marathon. We currently have over 12,000 monthly unique visitors, 5200+ Instagram followers, and 1200+ email subscribers, almost entirely within Los Angeles. We've gathered this strong local following with a very simple website and concept, and we think there is an opportunity to build a much bigger platform for dedicated film-goers and the independent venues that cater to them.

Position Overview:

I'm looking to partner with a software engineer / web developer to build a robust event discovery platform that connects movie-lovers to the best theatrical experiences in their cities. Similar to how dice.fm helps curious music fans discover local shows at smaller, more niche venues, Revival Hub aims to be the platform that helps film fans discover memorable movie-going experiences. We want to test this platform in Los Angeles with the goal of expanding nation-wide.

Projects:

• Building out a platform/dashboard where venues and event hosts can create their own event listings, sell tickets, and more.
• Rebuilding the current RHLA website and implementing as much automation as possible. This mostly involves web-scraping for event listings.
• Implementing similar automation for a weekly newsletter.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Need to be LA-based
• 3+ years as a Software Engineer / Full-Stack Developer
• Ability do build an entire product: front-end to back-end
• Previous start-up experience
• Expertise in payments processing
• Willing to work for only equity compensation for the first ~2 years.
• Strong communication skills

Nice-To-Haves:

• Passion for movies and filmmaking
• Knowledge of the film industry
