Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Engineering to lead and transform our technology efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be a key player in shaping the technology roadmap, driving innovation, and ensuring our products resonate with the market. As VP of Engineering, you will hire, lead, and inspire a passionate team while working closely with cross-functional leaders to deliver on our ambitious growth plans. Our unique compensation package includes equity, offering you a stake in our vision. We ask for a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week. Furthermore, upon the anticipated closing of our fundraising round or when our sales generate sufficient cash flow, you can expect not only revenue share but also a competitive salary. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight for MoodMe's engineers, ensuring the development and execution of our technology roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and cross-functional teams to shape the technologies underpinning our product roadmap, driving customer delight and scaling with adoption.
  • Lead by example, actively participating in coding for front-end and back-end development, setting high-quality and high-performance standards.
  • Attract, develop, and manage a global team of high-performing engineering professionals passionate about innovation.
  • Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and hiring decisions.
  • Identify, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs.
  • Develop budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations, optimizing infrastructure assets to meet financial targets.
  • Establish technology standards and practices, ensuring organization-wide adherence.
  • Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee system design and changes in architecture for efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay updated on technology trends and best practices, taking the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
  • Collaborate closely with Growth Marketing, Business Development, and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a CTO or VP ENG in a fast-growing company.
  • Proven success leading early-stage companies from seed to Series B/C funding.
  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams and shaping technology efforts in high-growth environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of mobile, web, and cloud systems architecture, design, and development.
  • Passion for delivering AI products that exceed customer expectations, focusing on quality and speed.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, efficiently prioritizing and managing tasks and projects.
  • An empathetic, collaborative, and adaptable leader fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.
  • Global mindset with an understanding of international markets and industry trends.
  • Commitment to diversity, ethical practices, and responsible growth.
  • Willingness to lead with an entrepreneurial spirit, recognizing the demands of the startup environment.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and written/verbal English skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
