Software Engineer

The software engineer role balances responsibilities such as producing specifications, executing the full software development lifecycle, and integrating user feedback. You will also gain valuable startup and leadership experience, such as maintaining product-market fit, experimenting with business models, and making engineering tradeoffs. A startup developer differs from a “big tech” developer by working cross-functionally and taking on outsized responsibility and decision-making.

Metric is focused on creating an environment where engineering team members can thrive. This includes but is not limited to time set aside for open source projects, budget for conferences and courses, and a focus on developing clean and high quality code while balancing product and business needs.

Our team is based in Chicago, and we offer 3 weeks of remote work each year. We are COVID cautious and do not intend to be in an office this summer.

Responsibilities include:

• Using React and Python to develop the software product, leveraging the existing beta product as the blueprint for the solution.
• Building out the back- and/or front-end of the two-sided platform for investors and companies.
• Creating APIs to pull data into the product from utility portals, operations, and HR systems.
