People at Wholesail
We were driven to start Wholesail by an earnest desire to work with other smart, talented, and ethical people–people who can do good work and will enjoy the results. And in a career (software engineering) that’s often so abstract, it's been a welcome honor and responsibility to work alongside such people as we serve customers including farmers, butchers, drivers, accountants, chefs, and restaurant owners. We believe in providing value and do so—through our software—directly to our customers. Unlike other industries, in which revenue comes at the cost of unwieldy volumes of data; at Wholesail, we process large “dollar-to-byte” transactions instead (such as a 4 kilobyte invoice worth $40,000). As a result, our technical challenge isn’t one of scale, it’s one of correctness: We can't tolerate making a payment twice, for example, or exposing a customer's pricing to someone that's not supposed to see it, so we focus on doing things with an extremely high degree of accuracy.
