Jobs at Skip the Small Talk

Since 2016, we've hosted events in Boston and New York where we use question prompt cards to help strangers get to know each other in a totally unique way. We've hosted events in bookstores, breweries, and cafes as well as colleges, high schools, and corporate settings. We put our money where our mouth is on the mental health of our contractors as well as our guests. Since we design experiences to optimize for mental wellness, our company culture matches that, too; we actually listen to feedback from our guests and the folks who work from us, and it's helped us design a community-based culture that people tell us they really appreciate. We also highly value social justice, and we use our relative privilege to back that up with action. We are proud to offer events led by LGBTQIA+ folks for LGBTQIA folks, events led by trans and nonbinary folks for trans and nonbinary folks, and events led by BIPOC for BIPOC. We value accessibility, and offer ASL at our events upon request, and we also accommodate other accessibility requests upon request. Of course, we are always learning and growing, so we are meticulous about taking feedback about how to do better, and then actually doing better.
