The Role: Founding Software Engineer You will be the first engineer to join PRISMqd and will set the foundation for our technology. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, wants to shape both product and culture, and is motivated by the impact of their work. You will: Lead development of the first production system (backend + architecture). Collaborate with me (clinical founder) and my partner (design + workflow) to translate validated crisis-use cases into usable, reliable systems. Build initial integrations for biosensor and monitoring data. Help define technical roadmap, priorities, and scaling strategies. Establish engineering standards, quality controls, and data practices with patient safety in mind. Contribute as a thought partner on how AI can be safely applied in high-stakes environments. We are looking for: Strong software engineering background (Python, C++, or comparable backend languages). Experience with healthcare, medtech, biosensors, or AI/ML strongly preferred but not required. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and make architecture decisions early. Passion for building systems that directly save lives. Comfort working equity-first at pre-funding stage, with standard vesting.
