We are working on a new technology which has groundbreaking applications in the transportation and parking industry, based on computer vision and artificial intelligence. Our approach relies on custom-designed parking meters equipped with onboard cameras as vision sensors, capable of automatically determining parking spot occupancy via computer algorithms. Our meters wirelessly connected and are completely off-grid, charged via solar cells incorporated into the meter’s body. Studies show that between 30-60% of all traffic congestion is due to motorists looking for parking spots while circling their destination. Having the ability to determine spot-occupancy in real-time enables us to offer our customers, both municipalities and motorists, a variety of tools and benefits not currently available using conventional parking meters. We are launching a pilot study in downtown Princeton this summer (which includes up to 2000 participants and 10 parking locations for a period of 60 days) and we have a number of internship position available for outstanding candidates.
