The credo and strategy underlying Pluvi is that by using our technical polymer for each single component, specifically chosen to be easily recovered and reused for the manufacturing of new products, we have created the world's first 100% recyclable umbrella, as simple to recover as an empty plastic bottle.
This material, combined with the injection moulding production method, uses significantly less energy (-80%) and releases far less greenhouse gas (-88%) during manufacture, making Pluvi highly eco-sustainable when compared with traditional umbrellas.
Our innovative design increases the sustainability even further as the patented geometry and part reduction create a more reliable and longer-lasting umbrella whose flexibility makes it better able to resist wind stress.
This extends lifespan, meaning a huge reduction in the pollution that comes from the disposal of a damaged item, as well as more satisfied customers.
Moreover, the adopted manufacturing technology allows us to easily change the color of each single component, giving end users the opportunity to create their own unique and customized umbrella.
With these innovations in components, materials and assembly process, we have significantly lowered production costs allowing us to mass produce outside of China, and instead build a more sustainable and longer-lasting commercial framework.
Towards this end, we have signed a partnership agreement with ST Umbrellas for manufacturing Pluvi in South Africa with distribution being managed directly from our Italian headquarters.
This will also give us the opportunity to create a significant number of jobs, contributing to the growth of communities in both countries.
At Pluvi we wish to change the paradigm of the umbrella, one of the world’s most widely sold and commonly owned items.
