ABOUT YOU
As FarmRaise’s first Head of Business Operations, you will own the scaling of FarmRaise to meet growth objectives. Your primary areas of ownership will be internal teams, though the ideal candidate will be a “business chameleon” who can parachute into key growth bottlenecks and build a playbook to mitigate them.
You’re obsessed with the intersection of company traction, operations, and people management. As a seasoned early-stage operator, you inspire your team with an ambitious vision grounded in data, milestones, and clear accountability and are comfortable pushing your team to achieve. You’ve led companies as they scaled from Seed to Series B and know how to build bold systems to succeed.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
FarmRaise is hiring a Head of Operations, reporting to our CEO, Jayce Hafner.
This role will own FarmRaise’s operational roadmap, set metrics and processes, and hold the team accountable for executing against our goals.
This role will manage and drive cross functional collaboration and results across Product, Engineering, Farmer Success, and Sales teams.
The Head of Ops will also be responsible for legal, payroll, finance, accounting, and internal company administrative workflows. They will design systems for scaling these components as we grow.
Compensation $130K - $165k base salary, with $35k - $40k commission tied to company revenue goals and equity granted via our employee stock option pool
Fully remote with regular all-team retreats

THE ROLE
Your responsibilities will include:
Finance
Manage quarterly Board reporting process and preparation
Fundraising process management
Key partner to CEO in fundraising process, including (1) strategic planning of capital raises to ensure the company is best positioned to go to market; (2) crafting the fundraising narrative in partnership and creating collateral; (3) active process management during fundraising, and (4) managing closing process with legal and accounting
Lead strategic finance efforts and financial forecasting
Align the company around north star revenue goals and identify KPIs by function and establish consistent reporting cadence
Create financial models for unit economics and customer acquisition cost to drive customer segmentation, business model, and product roadmap
Execute efficient revenue operations and billing management
Partner with Sales leader to establish competitive pricing and contractual terms
Stand up automated process for billing clients and integration with Quickbooks
Business operations
As the company scales and identifies growth gaps, you will own a team that can parachute into business functions, partner with the functional leader, and establish a path toward stability
Centralize software procurement when appropriate
Systems and compliance
Oversee functional sources of truth (e.g. Intercom, Salesloft, Linear, Hubspot, Ashby, ChartMogul, Quickbooks) and drive automation and integration where available
Partner with Eng leader and vCISO to ensure operational excellence for compliance: SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR
Partner with Sales & Eng leaders to understand insurance, security and other requirements to serve enterprise customers
Interface with FarmRaise’s legal team to drive compliance across contract execution, government relations, and fundraise processes
Performance management and people operations
Translate company-wide growth plan into headcount planning
Partner with CEO on top executive hires by managing executive recruiting firms, sourcing top candidates
Partner with leadership team on on recruiting best practices, including establishing FarmRaise employer brand, identifying top candidates, ensuring high quality interview loops, and converting top candidates to full-time employees
Organize and execute team retreats and offsites to be effective, impactful and productive
Manage FarmRaise employees in a way that promotes employee retention and company performance, implementing systems of accountability, feedback and performance management that help us exceed our goals
Establish career ladders for high performers and implement best practices to encourage employee longevity and retention
Train new managers
Develop onboarding processes and ensure successful onboarding of new employees

Partner with functional leaders on delivering performance management, career laddering, compensation discussions with their team
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will:
Have 5+ years of experience scaling teams from ~20 to 100+ in an operations, growth, or management role
Roll up their sleeves and be resourceful in a startup environment
Understand problems at their root cause and solve the right problem at the right time
Balance competing priorities and incentives across the company
Be high EQ and low ego
Perform as a fast learner who can parachute into problems and drive quick wins with functional partners
Drive results through influence rather than authority
Be an exceptional written communicator and champion of FarmRaise’s written culture
Care more about achieving outcomes than building beautiful processes
Love driving accountability and results in your management approach
Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and direct
Possess a strong financial modeling background and years of experience applying this muscle to company building
