Echion is a leading developper of advanced battery materials. Our products enable the next-generation superfast charging batteries, with only 6 minutes for a full battery charge. This enables a fundamental rethink of how products are designed and used, from e-mobility applications, consumer electronics, and sustainable electricity grid stabilisation. Echion spun out from the University of Cambridge in 2017 and is now launching an exciting product and has already achieved great commercial traction. Our product is a platform of advanced materials solution to enable safe fast-charge of lithium-ion batteries with exceptional cycle life and energy density. The core technology relies on proprietary mixed niobium oxide anode materials which we have designed to replace standard battery anode materials such as graphite and LTO.

Depending on the scale of each sopecific commerical opportunity we can either produce the materials directly and supply it to cell manufacturers and end-users or find a commercial arrangement (e.g. licensing) with an established battery materials manufacturers. In both cases we provide our customers with packages of protected intellectual property, cell integration know-how, ready-made supply chains, and customisation options for different end-user markets.
