Jobs at Boardgameco.com
1 We are profitable and cash-flowing having found product-market fit as a two-sided business model with (1) on one side, USERS who easily trade away their undesired boardgames for ones they want, and (2) on the other, CUSTOMERS who buy the used boardgames (at current runrate of $40K+ per month). 2 Robust, tested model (6+ years old): Problem: Boardgamers have no easy, reliable way to part with games that they are no longer interested in. [NB: Hobby - analog, 'designer' - boardgaming has exploded in the past 15 years; boardgamegeek.com, the online 'address' of the hobby, has grown to millions of monthly users] Solution: Boardgametraders.com (our special-purpose service site), is by far the easiest, largest, and most-trusted counterparty who will trade for large quantities of games, allowing users to easily find what they want and make a trade. 3 Growth potential - we can broaden the user (trader) base from the hardcore, large-collection gamers (see below) - we can broaden the customer base with more marketing expertise and expanding from current sales channels - we can grow profitability of existing users (>75% rate of return traders) by charging to use the service (eg in return for more favorable trade rates, etc). - The IP/database that drives this company can be exploited to create much more value (ie BGC is just a pilot experiment in a very niche hobby): it can be licensed to domain/pricing experts in other, higher-value collectible domains (eg. gems, event tickets) to start similar marketplaces. 4 We have a huge-potential existing sister business - boardgameexchange.com (like early Netflix, where customers like hotels and bars and individuals pay monthly to have games in a queue shipped to them until they return them for the next ones in the queue). Currently not a focus but has 40+ monthly-paying customers 5 Two smart, passionate founders who need and want a leader ... and there are more reasons yet 'why'...just limited room here.
