Ginger Analytics is the corporate entity for LoopChat and LoopChat Pay, based in Berkeley, CA. We are a social medial platform focused on college students. We differentiate our platform by focusing on sharing and exploring our everyday life in college. We have initial adoption among college students who want to meet other students on their campus and on campuses across the country. We respect privacy and will not exploit our users by selling personal information. Our medium term goal is to monetize the platform by introducting financial products, such as payments, to users. So it is important to build trust in the platform. We launched in January 2020 and have gained over 180k users, with over 25% adoption among incoming students at UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCLA, and other key campuses. We are anticipating Series A in mid 2021, after which, our phase 2 expansion will be to scale up at other large size colleges across the United States.
We are looking for a Director of Marketing and Business Development to join our core management team, along with commensurate early employee equity. The primary responsibility is to grow users, activity, and retention amongh college students for our social media platform. We would like a candidate who has experience bringing hype and energy of the platform to the general public. A recent graduate from our core target market with proven success is ideal.
DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Lead the marketing strategy and execution efforts to accelerate adoption among college age student market
- Manage public relations campaign to bring LoopChat to market
- Manage online social media and offline marketing campaigns
- Manage junior marketing assistants and student interns to execute marketing and promotion programs with student government, school clubs, teachers, and other partners
- Develop and manage marketing collateral for PR, social media, influencer, and other channels for promotion
- Execute to success through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation and efficient decision-making
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of work experience in marketing or sales, with 2+ years in startup or technology company environment
- Strong command of messaging, social media, fintech (particularly mobile payments) applications
- Be able to translate technology in effective marketing campaigns
- Marketing, Social Media, and Computer science fundamentals Some experience with design and editing software, such as AI, Sketch, etc
