About the job
About ownpath
ownpath is a design and technology company building at the intersection of design, engineering, and AI.
We work across three verticals:
- Studio — We partner with startups and global enterprises like Hero MotoCorp and Philips to solve high-stakes design and engineering challenges across automotive, finance, healthcare, enterprise software, and AI.
- Labs — We build our own products, tools, and experiments.
- Academy — Where our journey began, and which we're now re-launching to help shape the next generation of designers.
We've built exceptional products and experiences for ambitious companies. Now we're looking for someone to help us discover the next ones.
The Role
At ownpath, we help businesses build distinctive brands and digital experiences that connect design with business impact. We’re looking for a Brand Design Manager who can lead brand engagements, establish strong creative directions, and translate business objectives into thoughtful, cohesive brand identities and communication systems.
You’ll work across brand strategy, identity, campaigns, and digital communication while mentoring designers and collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional teams.
What We're Looking For
- 8–10 years of experience in brand identity, visual communication, or graphic design, with experience leading projects and mentoring designers.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating brand identity systems, visual storytelling, art direction, and high-quality execution.
- Strong understanding of typography, colour, layout, composition, imagery, and visual systems.
- Experience translating business and brand objectives into distinctive, cohesive design solutions.
- Ability to lead creative reviews, communicate design rationale, and manage client feedback.
- Experience working across multiple formats, from brand identity and presentations to digital campaigns and web experiences.
- Strong project management, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- A balance of creative ambition, attention to detail, and practical execution.
- Comfort working in a lean, fast-moving studio environment with multiple projects and evolving briefs.
- An interest in emerging creative tools, AI-assisted design, and new approaches to brand building
What You'll Do
- Lead brand design engagements from initial discovery and creative exploration to identity development, execution, and final delivery.
- Translate client briefs, business objectives, and audience insights into compelling creative directions and brand systems.
- Develop and oversee brand identities, including logos, typography, colour systems, visual languages, art direction, and brand guidelines.
- Lead the creation of brand collateral across presentations, websites, campaigns, social media, marketing materials, and other digital and physical touchpoints.
- Maintain a high standard of visual craft, consistency, and creative thinking across all brand deliverables.
- Present and articulate creative concepts to clients, incorporating feedback while protecting the integrity of the design direction.
- Mentor brand and graphic designers through design reviews, constructive feedback, and hands-on guidance.
- Collaborate with product design, content, motion, and engineering teams to ensure brand consistency across experiences and channels.
- Manage creative timelines, project priorities, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent engagements.
- Contribute to project scoping, creative proposals, and pitches, helping clients understand the value of strong brand design.
- Explore new visual approaches, tools, and AI-enabled workflows to improve creative exploration and execution.
- Help build ownpath’s brand design practice, including its creative standards, processes, and point of view.
Why ownpath
