The Role

At ownpath, we work at the intersection of design, technology, and AI to build meaningful digital experiences for startups and enterprises. We’re looking for a Product Design Manager who can lead product design engagements end to end, elevate the quality of our work, and build strong relationships with clients while mentoring a team of designers.

You’ll work closely with clients, design leadership, and engineering teams to translate complex business problems into intuitive, high-quality digital products.

What We're Looking For

• 8–10 years of experience in product design, with demonstrated experience leading projects and mentoring designers.
• Strong expertise in UX, UI, interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and design systems.
• Experience working on complex digital products, preferably across multiple industries and product stages.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, design craft, and the ability to connect user needs with business outcomes.
• Experience managing client relationships, facilitating workshops, and presenting design decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with engineering, product, and business teams.
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution when required.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced studio environment with multiple projects, changing priorities, and tight timelines.
• Interest in AI-enabled workflows, emerging technologies, and continuously improving how design work gets done.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end product design engagements, from discovery and research to information architecture, user flows, wireframes, visual design, prototyping, and final handoff.
• Own the quality of product design deliverables across projects, ensuring solutions are intuitive, consistent, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs, technical constraints, and product requirements.
• Translate ambiguous briefs and complex problems into clear design directions, product experiences, and actionable design roadmaps.
• Mentor and manage product designers, providing regular feedback, design reviews, and guidance to help them grow in craft and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design intent is carried through implementation and the final product meets quality expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve design systems, workflows, and processes across client engagements.
• Manage project timelines, design deliverables, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining a high standard of craft.
• Contribute to proposals, scoping discussions, and design presentations to help communicate the value of design to prospective and existing clients.
• Explore how AI tools and emerging technologies can improve product design workflows and enable better digital experiences.
