Food distribution is a massive industry still running on decades-old software, spreadsheets, and manual processes. We're changing that.

Our platform helps distributors run their entire business, from purchasing and inventory to sales, logistics, accounting, and payments, with AI agents increasingly automating everyday workflows.

We're a fast-growing, seed-funded startup based in NYC. We're a small team building software that powers the day-to-day operations of real businesses, and we're looking for people who want to have an outsized impact.

The Role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who loves building software but also wants to get out from behind the screen and see how it's actually used.

You'll work directly with our customers—often on-site at their warehouses and offices—to understand their operations, deploy Stock68, and solve their most challenging problems.

One day you might be working with a warehouse manager to redesign an inventory workflow. The next, you'll be writing Python code to automate a process, building an integration, or shipping a new feature.

You'll work closely with our founders and engineering team, with significant ownership over both customer success and product development.

This is not a traditional implementation or support role. You'll be expected to write production code, solve hard technical problems, and help shape the product.

What You'll Do

Deploy software: Own customer implementations, including configuration, data migrations, integrations, testing, and go-live.

Work directly with users: Spend time with customers to understand how their businesses operate and identify opportunities to improve their workflows.

Write code: Build features, integrations, automations, and internal tools to solve real customer problems.

Solve problems end-to-end: Debug technical issues across our application, databases, and integrations, and drive them to resolution.

Shape the product: Turn customer insights into scalable product improvements alongside our core engineering team.

Scale our operations: Build tools and repeatable processes that make future deployments faster and easier.

What We're Looking For

Strong programming fundamentals and experience shipping production software.

Proficiency in Python and SQL, and familiarity with modern web application development.

Ability to independently debug issues, navigate unfamiliar systems, and build practical solutions.

Excellent communication skills and an interest in working directly with customers.

High ownership, resourcefulness, and comfort operating in ambiguous situations.

Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Nice to Have

Experience with Django, React, TypeScript, or PostgreSQL.

Experience with ERP, inventory management, logistics, accounting, or B2B SaaS.

Experience with API integrations, data migrations, or enterprise software implementations.

Previous experience at an early-stage startup.
