Full Stack Engineer

The Role

You will own full-stack delivery: build and ship features across the Galvix platform, from the Spring Boot backend through to the React front end, and keep things running when something breaks in US hours.

You are not just writing code to a spec. You are building the product that US businesses rely on to manage sales tax compliance. That means writing clean, maintainable code, understanding the business logic behind what you build, debugging production issues when they come up, and owning a feature from design through to deployment.

What You’ll Do

Backend development. Build and maintain services in Java and Spring Boot: APIs, business logic, and integrations with tax engines and third-party systems.

Frontend development. Build and maintain user-facing features in React JS. Clean, responsive, well-tested UI that customers and our own ops team use daily.

Full-stack ownership. Take a feature from design through backend, frontend, testing, and deployment. Debug across the stack, not just the part you wrote.

On-call support. Join the on-call rotation for the US shift: respond to production issues as they come up, triage incidents, and fix or escalate as needed.

Code quality and collaboration. Write tests, review others’ code, and take part in design discussions. Leave the codebase better than you found it.

Continuous improvement. Look for ways to speed up development, pay down technical debt, and improve system reliability. Bring what you find to the team.

Must Have

Availability to work US-overlap hours (approximately 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST), fully remote from home, with a quiet professional space and reliable high-speed internet
Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience building backend services using Spring Boot
Experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and Git
Willingness to join the on-call rotation for the US shift, including occasional off-hours incident response
Problem-solving ability. You can debug across the stack and don’t stop at “it works on my machine”
Ownership. You take a feature from spec to production without needing to be chased
Organisation. You can manage multiple features or tickets at once without anything slipping

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of React JS for building front-end interfaces. Experience with a SaaS or services product at some scale. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. Any exposure to finance, accounting, or tax as a domain.

You’ll Do Well Here If

You measure yourself by what shipped and whether it held up in production, not by hours logged. You’re comfortable picking up a problem that spans the stack, and you don’t mind being on-call when it’s your turn. This is not a fit if you need a fully scoped ticket to make progress, or if you’d rather hand off a bug than track it down.

What You’ll Learn

How a real SaaS product is built and run end to end, including the operational discipline of supporting US customers on their own clock. You’ll learn US sales tax as a domain, which is deeper and more interesting than it sounds, and you’ll do it working directly with the founders rather than three layers below one.
