Help build how Hourglass operates
Hourglass helps businesses access working capital through invoice financing. We’ve passed $1 billion in annually financed volume and are building the banking and payments infrastructure that supports how our customers receive, manage, and move money.
We’re looking for a resourceful, detail-oriented operator to work directly with our founders and engineering team. You’ll own projects, help clients get onboarded, keep company operations running, and build better ways of working.
This role requires at least 2 years of experience in operations or a relevant technical field. We care about what you’ve taken responsibility for, how quickly you learn, and whether you follow through.
What you’ll own
- Client onboarding and relationships: Coordinate documents, communicate next steps, and track questions and issues through resolution.
- Company operations: Coordinate payroll, benefits, employee onboarding, expenses, vendor invoices, and internal records.
- Projects: Turn a loosely defined goal into a practical plan, coordinate the people involved, and get it finished.
- Financial operations: Reconcile records, investigate discrepancies, and help resolve payment and account issues.
- Better workflows: Use spreadsheets, AI, and automation to reduce repetitive work, improve reporting, and keep information organized.
- Partner coordination: Keep work moving with banking partners, accountants, compliance providers, and vendors.
You should value both improving a process and doing the recurring work carefully.
What we’re looking for
- Evidence of ownership. You take initiative, work autonomously, and carry tasks through to completion.
- Strong analytical skills. You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, can investigate inconsistencies, and check your work.
- Clear communication. You can write a useful client update, ask precise questions, and explain what needs to happen next.
- Practical fluency with AI. You use it to produce better work and know how to use its output to produce meaningful solutions. You use it to further your work, not replace it.
- Organization and judgment. You keep track of commitments and handle sensitive customer, employee, and financial information carefully.
- Curiosity and initiative. You take initiative to learn unfamiliar systems, surface problems early, and ask for help when needed.
- Based in San Francisco and available to work in person.
Experience with startups, fintech, client onboarding, bookkeeping, SQL, APIs, or workflow automation is helpful, but you don’t need all of it.
Compensation and opportunity
- $80,000–$100,000 annual base salary.
- Equity ownership in Hourglass.
- Direct collaboration with the founders and engineering team.
- High agency, responsibility for real business outcomes, and infinite room to grow as the company scales.
Apply
Send your résumé and a short example of something you took ownership of or demonstrated agency in. What needed to happen, what did you personally do, and what was the result?
