About the job

Why Join Product at Supernova?

There are very few companies in India where Product Managers get to build and monetise consumer AI products at scale. Supernova is India’s largest consumer AI startup.

Our AI products have been used by 2 crore+ people and generate approximately $17 million in ARR. Over the past three years, we have developed deep expertise in understanding AI users, building AI-native experiences, working with models, prompts, harnesses, agents, evals, and rapidly iterating our way to products people pay for.

If you want to build your career as an AI Product Manager, develop genuine authority in consumer AI, and experience one of the steepest learning curves available in AI Product today, there may be no better place to do it.

About Supernova

Supernova is India's largest consumer AI startup - building AI products that help the world communicate.

Our products have reached 2 crore+ users, and the business has grown to approximately $17 million in ARR.

We currently build two products on a shared communication-AI platform:

  • Supernova, an AI communication coach and daily English copilot that helps people learn, practise, translate, understand, and communicate confidently.
  • Superflow, an AI communication utility that helps people express themselves faster and more effectively.

We started with English learning as our wedge. Our larger ambition is to build a category-defining communication AI company.

What You’ll Do

Role is at the intersection of AI, Design, Engineering, Data & product → So if you are a generalist problem solver, you will thrive.

You’ll build AI products & systems that interact with real customers at scale

Your work will include:

  • Experimenting with different models, prompts, context, and system configurations to determine what produces the best user experience.
  • Creating evals that measure whether an AI system is genuinely improving—not merely producing outputs that look good in a few hand-picked examples.
  • Running hundreds of A/B tests across prompts, models, product flows, and AI behaviours.
  • Defining and tracking the user and business metrics associated with these systems, including quality, engagement, conversion, retention, latency, and cost.
  • Studying real customer interactions to identify failure modes, unmet needs, and opportunities to improve the product.
  • Building systematic feedback loops between user behaviour, evaluation results, and product changes.
  • Working with engineering and data teams on model selection, fine-tuning, datasets, guardrails, and production performance.
  • Balancing output quality with speed, reliability, cost, and the constraints of serving millions of users.
  • Developing a point of view about when better prompting is sufficient, when the product experience needs to change, and when fine-tuning or deeper model work is justified.

The job is not simply to “write prompts.” You’ll treat an AI system as a product and an engineering system: understand the user, define what good looks like, measure it rigorously, and improve it through continuous experimentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years in Product, Growth, Analytics, Growth Marketing, or an early-stage company, with evidence that you have owned and shipped measurable outcomes.
  • Strong product and user judgement. AI products rarely have one objectively correct output—you can recognise what feels helpful, natural, accurate, and trustworthy for the user.
  • Analytical and engineering thinking. You can break AI quality into measurable dimensions, design evals, investigate failure modes, compare model behaviour, and optimise systems methodically. PMs here need to be technically fluent.
  • Independence with data. You know which questions to ask, can retrieve and analyse the data yourself, and don’t depend on a data analyst for every answer.
  • First-principles problem-solving. You don’t blindly copy existing playbooks; you break ambiguous problems down, find the root cause, and develop your own point of view.
  • A builder’s mindset. You take a problem from uncertainty to hypothesis to shipped product—and remain accountable for what happens afterward.
  • Comfort with speed and experimentation. You would rather run a credible test and learn than spend weeks trying to perfect a plan.
  • Technical fluency. You don’t need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working closely with models, prompts, evals, datasets, and engineering systems.
  • Clear communication and high ownership. You can bring people along, disagree directly, and keep work moving without continuous supervision.

Good to Have

  • Very fluent using AI tools in your own workflow to move faster - Very important
  • Hands-on experience shipping AI / LLM-powered features.
  • Strong engineering pedigree — IIT/IIM/top-tier institute background is a plus, not mandatory.
  • Experience at a consumer app, consumer AI, or high-growth product company.

How Product works here

Product at Supernova is not a coordination function.

PMs are expected to understand users, get into the data themselves, develop original points of view, and work closely with design and engineering until something meaningful ships.

We operate with a few strong principles:

  • Move fast break things
  • Experimentation beats prolonged debate. We’ve run 2000 ABs in last 2 years
  • The metric must move. Shipping a feature is not the outcome.
  • First principles beat copied playbooks. What worked elsewhere is useful evidence, not an automatic answer.
  • Ownership beats implementation. You will usually receive a problem, not a detailed specification.
  • Speed requires judgement. Move quickly, but know which decisions need precision.
  • Candour requires respect. We disagree directly and change our minds when the evidence changes.
  • No politics or product theatre. Clear thinking and results matter more than seniority, presentation, or volume.

We run light on bureaucracy and heavy on initiative. The environment is flat, fast, collaborative, and sometimes a little messy.

We think of ourselves as a high-performance sports team, not a family: ambitious people with complementary strengths, direct feedback, high standards, and a shared objective.

What you’ll get

  • A steep education in building and monetising consumer digital products.
  • Direct ownership of important product and growth metrics.
  • Millions of users—and enough scale to know whether your ideas actually work.
  • A team that has run thousands of experiments and understands consumer subscription products deeply.
  • The opportunity to build on the frontier of applied AI and voice technology.
  • A flat environment where scope expands quickly when you demonstrate good judgement.
  • Competitive Salary and meaningful ESOPs.
