The Role

We now run two products — Supernova and Superflow — and the finance work is scaling with them. We're hiring a Finance Manager to run our day-to-day finance operations: clean books, strong controls, GST and TDS done right, a smooth audit, and numbers that are ready whenever leadership or an investor needs them.

This is a hands-on generalist role. One week you're closing the books and reconciling payouts; the next you're filing returns, answering auditor queries, or pulling together data for a due-diligence request. You'll make sure all of it is accurate, on time, and well documented — and keep making the process simpler as we scale.

Filing on time is the baseline. We want someone who owns finance operations, spots issues before they turn into audit findings or penalties, and leaves every process better than they found it.

What You'll Own

• Books & month-end close: oversee day-to-day accounting and records of financial transactions; run a reliable month-end close — including subscription and deferred revenue, refunds, and payout-to-bank reconciliations — in line with Indian GAAP / Ind AS, as applicable.
• Processes & controls: build and run internal financial processes and controls — approvals, vendor payables, expense policies, reconciliations — that keep us compliant and scale as we grow.
• GST & TDS: own GST and TDS end to end — computation, payments, monthly and annual returns, and reconciliations (including input tax credit and reverse charge); TDS on salaries, vendors, and foreign remittances where applicable.
• Tax & regulatory compliance: own income-tax, ROC / MCA, and payroll-related compliance (PF, professional tax), working with external CAs, company secretaries, and HR where needed; stay on top of changes in Indian tax law and regulation.
• Audit: drive the annual statutory and tax audits — prepare schedules and reconciliations, work with the external auditors, close queries, and get the audited accounts done in time for the annual filings.
• Financial statements, MIS & budgets: prepare financial statements, monthly MIS, and budgets; track spend against budget and share clear insights and recommendations with leadership.
• Fundraise & investor reporting: when we raise, coordinate with investors' due-diligence teams — keep the data room ready, answer queries quickly, and make sure our records hold up — and support post-raise filings with advisors; between raises, own the regular investor reports.
• Cross-team workflows: work with teams across the company to make vendor onboarding, payments, and expense claims faster and cleaner, with less manual work — flagging cost leaks along the way.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years in accounting, finance, or audit — ideally including time in-house at a startup or fast-growing company where you handled the books and compliance, not just one slice of it.
• Hands-on with Indian compliance: you've filed GST and TDS returns and run the reconciliations yourself, and worked with advisors on income-tax and ROC / MCA filings — you know where things go wrong.
• Strong accounting fundamentals: Indian GAAP / Ind AS, Schedule III financial statements, and a month-end close that holds up in an audit.
• Audit experience: you've prepared audit schedules and worked directly with statutory auditors.
• A process and controls mindset: you've set up or tightened a process — approvals, reconciliations, vendor payments — and made it run smoother.
• Comfortable beyond compliance: you can prepare a budget and MIS, and explain what the numbers mean in plain language.
• Organised and reliable at startup pace — you juggle multiple deadlines without dropping one, take ownership, and communicate clearly.

Good to Have

• Exposure to fundraise due diligence or investor reporting.
• Experience at a consumer app or subscription business — app-store payouts, refunds, and high transaction volumes.
• Comfort with accounting software and AI / automation tools to cut down manual work.
• A CA or CMA qualification is a plus, but not a must — what matters is hands-on ownership of books, tax, and audit.
