As our next Business Development Representative, you'll sit right at the top of our sales funnel. You'll start the conversations that turn cold prospects into real opportunities for our account management in our sales team, helping more tradespeople grow their business through Checkatrade. If you get a kick out of the chase of a prospect and want to turn that into a career in sales, this is a good place to start.

The job, unfiltered:

• Hunt down and research potential non-member trades across multiple channels, then work out whether they're a genuine fit for Checkatrade.
• Pick up the phone (and send emails) to start conversations that uncover what prospects actually need and where it hurts.
• Make Checkatrade's value land clearly, qualify the sales opportunity and quickly, in a way that sparks real curiosity.
• Warm leads up through the early stages of their journey, then hand them over cleanly to account executives to re-qualify and close.
• Keep Salesforce spotless, with accurate, up-to-date records of every conversation and lead.
• Team up with sales executives and other teams to swap insights, sharpen your outreach and convert more of the leads you find.

The fit:

• 0-2 years' experience in business development, lead generation, client outreach or another customer-facing role.
• A results-driven streak, with the resilience to keep finding and qualifying new opportunities even when the first few calls don't land.
• Communication that builds rapport fast and gets your point across clearly and concisely.
• A proactive, organised approach to managing your pipeline.
• Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is useful, but if you're keen to learn, we'll train you up.
