Strategic Project Lead – Software Engineering

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: No fixed minimum is stated, but your resume must clearly show substantial directly relevant leadership experience in software engineering, technical program management, consulting, operations, or a similar field. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT: You must be able to read and review code, understand test suites, and assess technical work in languages such as Python, TypeScript, Java, or Go.

We are hiring a Strategic Project Lead – Software Engineering for a remote three-month contractor assignment.

What you will do

• Build and operate reliable systems that produce high-quality technical work at scale.
• Lead complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs and distributed contributor networks.
• Inspect code, tests, quality signals, workflows, and evaluation rubrics.
• Coordinate with technical, product, research, and operations stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in software engineering, technical program management, consulting, finance, startups, operations, or a similar environment.
• Experience managing distributed teams or large-scale technical operations.
• Strong technical judgment and written communication.

Engagement and compensation

• Contractor role for approximately three months.
• Minimum 40 hours per week, including at least 4 hours overlap with PST.
• US rate: $100–$120 per hour. Non-US rate: $50 per hour.
• Selection includes an AI interview and delivery review/interview.
