Overview

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer (DevSecOps) who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, automation, and cybersecurity. In this role, you will help scale and enhance a security program by developing automation solutions, streamlining operational workflows, and improving the technologies that support threat monitoring and response.

This position is best suited for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems through code, building reliable deployment processes, and integrating security technologies into a cohesive ecosystem. You will play a key role in advancing platform capabilities, reducing manual effort, and supporting a security-first engineering culture.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and strengthen security processes.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize backend services and integrations using Python.
  • Create and support deployment pipelines that enable reliable and secure software delivery.
  • Implement infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Enhance event monitoring, analytics, and detection capabilities within the Elastic ecosystem.
  • Connect security platforms, applications, and data sources through APIs, webhooks, and workflow automation.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Develop operational documentation, testing strategies, and technical runbooks to support long-term platform stability.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership and engineering teams to implement security standards and technical roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with scalable, automated solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, DevSecOps, or a related technical role.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including application development, automation, and API integration.
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Beats, Kibana, or similar data analytics and monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or comparable tools.
  • Proficiency using Git-based source control in a collaborative development environment.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of security operations concepts, including monitoring, detection, incident response, and event management.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SIEM, XDR, or security operations platforms in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Elastic Security, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar security analytics tools.
  • Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK® framework and modern detection engineering practices.
  • Exposure to SOAR technologies, threat intelligence platforms, Sigma rules, or security automation frameworks.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and implementing security best practices.
  • Knowledge of container security, Kubernetes security controls, and workload protection strategies.
  • Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to drive security innovation and automation.
