Manager, Linux Infrastructure
Location: Brookfield, CT (Onsite)
Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a technical leader to oversee Linux infrastructure operations while guiding a team of engineers supporting critical enterprise systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable environments, and helping engineers grow professionally. You'll play a key role in maintaining system reliability, strengthening security, and driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and develop a team responsible for Linux-based infrastructure and production support.
- Oversee system availability, performance, patching, and operational health across enterprise environments.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for high-impact outages and infrastructure issues.
- Champion automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Work closely with Security, Network, Application, and Database teams on infrastructure initiatives and support activities.
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Establish best practices for monitoring, documentation, and change management.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years supporting Linux systems in enterprise environments.
- 2+ years leading technical teams or infrastructure operations.
- Strong experience with Linux distributions including RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, or CentOS.
- Solid background in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
- Experience with system performance tuning, patch management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle database environments.
- Familiarity with secure file transfer platforms such as Aspera, FileCatalyst, CrushFTP, SFTP, or FTPS.
- Exposure to NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, or ITIL-based operational processes.
