About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer – Azure to design, build, automate, and operate modern Azure cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), PowerShell, and Azure CLI, along with experience in cloud migration and DevOps practices.

You will work closely with Application Architects, .NET Developers, Product Managers, Security, and Infrastructure teams to build secure, scalable, automated, and reliable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain scalable Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions.
Build and manage cloud platforms with a strong focus on automation, security, reliability, and scalability.
Support on-premises to Azure cloud migrations.
Develop and implement cloud governance practices covering networking, identity, RBAC, security, tagging, and resource organisation.
Contribute to cloud architecture, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and production implementations.
DevOps & Automation
Build, maintain, and optimise Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, and/or Bicep.
Automate cloud operations using PowerShell and Azure CLI (AZ CLI).
Implement Git-based workflows and contribute to GitOps and Continuous Delivery practices.
Integrate automated testing and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Cloud Operations & Reliability
Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and observability.
Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure and platform issues.
Improve cloud reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and improved DevOps maturity.
Maintain technical documentation for cloud environments, architecture patterns, and operational processes.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Partner with .NET development teams to improve cloud-native development and deployment practices.
Collaborate with Architects and Security teams to ensure solutions meet technical and compliance requirements.
Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture, deployment strategies, build/release processes, and DevOps practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development.

Must-Have Skills
5+ years of relevant Cloud/DevOps experience
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Strong experience with Azure IaaS & PaaS
Advanced experience with Azure DevOps
Strong hands-on experience building YAML-based CI/CD pipelines
Strong proficiency in Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell
Strong experience with Azure CLI (AZ CLI)
Knowledge of Cloud Governance, Security, Networking, Identity & RBAC
Understanding of DevOps, Automation, Observability, GitOps & Continuous Delivery
Experience with on-premises to Azure cloud migration
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
Microsoft Sentinel or similar cloud security/monitoring tools
Docker / Containerisation
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Cloud Cost Management / FinOps
Understanding of .NET development environments and build pipelines

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in engineers who are hands-on with Azure and DevOps automation, rather than candidates with purely infrastructure or support-oriented backgrounds.
