Founding Engineer

The role
Own core engineering initiatives across our quick-commerce platform end to end: the frontend web
experience, the mobile apps, the backend infrastructure, and the AI-powered workflows. You decide how we architect, scale, ship, and optimize high-throughput order systems, and you make sure every line of code powers a fast, reliable commerce experience.

We're building Epik, India's first experience commerce platform. Customers discover premium electronics online, then book a home demo to try them out in their own space before buying. We're backed by InfoEdge and live today in Bangalore and Delhi NCR.

What you'll own
• The commerce stack: architect, build, and scale customer-facing web and mobile applications using React, React Native, and Node.js.
• Core workflows: own high-throughput user flows, checkout engines, real-time inventory tracking, and warehouse dispatch, end to end.
• Scalability and reliability: optimize backend services, event-driven architectures, queues, and background jobs for 99.99% uptime and low latency.
• AI integration: drive adoption of AI agents, LLMs, and RAG workflows to improve product search,
recommendations, and internal developer velocity.
• Observability and DevOps: build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), monitoring, logging, and performance telemetry across production.

Who you are
• 5 to 7 years of software engineering experience building and scaling quick-commerce or e-commerce systems in production.
• Mandatory: Proven hands-on experience with e-commerce or quick-commerce platforms, including
high-volume checkout, real-time logistics, catalog management, or inventory systems.
• Must-have stack: Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, with real production experience across React, React
Native, and Node.js.
• A solid foundation in asynchronous processing, message queues, event streaming, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• A Tier-1 CS degree (IIT, BITS, NIT, or similar) or a track record of shipping fast at high-growth,
venture-backed startups.

How you operate
• You think like an engineer and operate like an owner. You take end-to-end responsibility for the platform’s latency, reliability, and uptime, not just the tickets assigned to you.
• You use AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot to work faster.
• You make pragmatic architectural calls quickly, then revisit them when the data or the scale demands it.
• You work closely with founders, product managers, and operations to solve real logistics problems.
