About FiNC

We're assembling a coalition to change how politics works. Forever.

3 middlemen decide which candidates you ever hear about: big money, party gatekeepers, and media manipulation. They control the money, the access, and the visibility every candidate needs to win, so they decide who wins before anyone votes. The system isn't broken. It's rigged, and it works exactly as it was built to.

FiNC (Future is Now Coalition) is the way around it. Citizens say what they care about, candidates say who they are, and the 2 sides connect with nobody in between. Our work is the human side: outreach, PR, social, and citizen buy-in. We're not marketing a website. We're campaigning for a better way to choose leaders.

To maintain our independence and avoid conflicts of interest, we are not accepting investors or financing that comes with strings attached. Instead, we are Crowd-Starting FiNC: building it together from the ground up.

We ask team members to contribute 15 to 20 hours per week during this phase, with compensation deferred until we are operational. That includes the Founder, who has not drawn a salary and will not until the team does.

This model only works if you see it as a short-term investment for a long-term return. Contributors who build this with us earn an ownership stake in FiNC.

We are an LLC today because we needed a legal home to start from. We are building toward something akin to a nonprofit cooperative, where the people who build the organization own it, and we operate not for profit in the meantime.

This model filters for people who believe in the mission deeply enough to build alongside us. It is not for everyone, and that is okay.

Community Engagement Coordinator

The Role

We're looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to be the person citizens actually talk to.

People show up in our comments every day on Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and everywhere else we post. Some are curious, some are skeptical, and some are angry at a side they assume we're on. All of them deserve a real answer from a real person.

This is a flexible seat. You would start in the comment sections and our subreddit, and move to wherever citizens are talking to us that month.

The problem you would solve

Most people have stopped expecting anyone to answer. Everyone you can reach has no power, and everyone with power is unreachable, so after a while people stop asking.

Our comments are one of the few places where that isn't true. A good reply can turn someone who came in ready for a fight into someone asking a better question. No reply, or a canned one, confirms what they already believed about every political group online.

We're getting real attention, especially on Reddit. What we're short on is the person who meets it.

What you would do

• Reply to comments across Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and the other platforms we're active on, quickly and like a person
• Help run conversations in our subreddit: start threads, keep them on track, and make it a place people actually want to post
• Collect real stories from real citizens, in their own words and with their permission, about why the old way stopped working for them
• Share our micro-actions and help people follow through on them: small, quick things that make a real difference
• Bring back what you're hearing. The questions that keep coming up, the objections, the posts that land, so the team builds on what's real
• Move with the work. When a new citizen effort goes live, you're likely one of the first people on it

What success looks like in 90 days

• Nobody who asks a real question in our comments goes unanswered
• At least 1 subreddit thread you started or ran turned into a real conversation
• A running list of what citizens keep asking us, sorted so the rest of the team can use it
• A handful of real citizen stories, collected with permission

Who we're looking for

• 1+ years running an online community, moderating, managing social for an organization, or something close enough that you can show us the work
• Warm with strangers who show up angry. You can take the heat out of a comment without taking the bait
• You disagree without talking down. Nobody here gets made to feel stupid for what they believed yesterday
• You don't take sides in the comments. We host every position and take none, and people test that constantly. You can be critical of both parties' leadership in the same breath and mean it
• Consistent. A comment section is a daily beat. It rewards the person who's there every day far more than the one who's brilliant once a week
• Good judgment on when not to reply. Some comments want a fight, not an answer. Knowing which is half the job
