The Role

We're hiring a User Experience Designer to translate complex market research workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces that help users work seamlessly with AI agents.

This is a genuinely hard and interesting design problem. Our users are research professionals delegating real production work to AI — which means every interface must balance automation with oversight, make agent behavior legible and trustworthy, and introduce fundamentally new workflows while still feeling familiar to teams with deeply ingrained ways of working. There are no established design patterns to copy here; you'll be defining how humans and AI agents collaborate on high-stakes operational work.

You'll own the design process end to end — from user research through prototyping to shipped interfaces — working closely with product, engineering, and research operations in a fast-moving, product-driven environment.

What You'll Do

Research & Discovery

• Conduct user research with research operators, project managers, and survey programmers to understand how work actually happens
• Facilitate design thinking workshops to define problems, align stakeholders, and explore solution spaces
• Define user journeys that map where AI agents act, where humans review, and where trust is built or broken

Design & Prototyping

• Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications for web-based products and internal tools
• Design interaction patterns for human-AI collaboration — review loops, agent output validation, exception handling — that reduce friction without reducing control
• Iterate rapidly based on user feedback, usability testing, and real production usage

Systems & Collaboration

• Contribute to visual design standards and help maintain a consistent, scalable design system
• Ensure accessibility and usability across the Metaforms product suite
• Partner closely with product management and engineering to gather requirements, validate solutions, and see designs through to shipped quality — presenting and defending design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike

What We're Looking For

Must-have

• Proven experience applying design thinking and user research to understand problems, define user needs, and validate solutions
• Strong UX design fundamentals — information architecture, interaction design, and user flows for complex, workflow-heavy products
• Solid visual design skills, with the ability to create clean, consistent, accessible interfaces aligned with a design system
• Fluency in prototyping in the product’s code base using in-house and external prototyping tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional, product-driven environments
• Experience designing B2B SaaS or workflow tools, especially for operations teams or expert users
• Exposure to AI-driven products — particularly human-in-the-loop or agent-based experiences

Nice-to-have

• Experience with onboarding and
• Familiarity with market research, survey tooling, or adjacent data-heavy domains
