About Strada
Strada builds AI agents that run insurance operations.
Insurance powers the global economy, helping businesses stay open and families recover from disasters. Yet much of the work behind it still relies on manual processes and legacy systems.
Our AI agents complete that work end to end: handling claims, policy changes, billing, and servicing across insurance systems. Backed by Y Combinator and leading investors, Strada already automates more than 5M customer interactions for insurers, TPAs, and brokers representing $20B+ in annual premiums.
Our ambition is to make entire insurance operations run on AI. We’re a small team with a substantial head start and much more to build. Joining now means owning core parts of the platform and helping define how an enormous industry operates.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us in-person at our Toronto office.
You'll work at the forefront of agentic AI, developing, evaluating, and deploying systems that handle complex insurance work end-to-end.
As a senior full-stack engineer, you'll have significant ownership and work closely with customers to build products they'll love. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to shape both the product and the engineering culture as we scale.
What you'll get done in the first week
- Ship your first PR to production - no lengthy onboarding, you're contributing immediately
- Get hands-on with our agent platform and understand the architecture behind automated insurance conversations and workflows
- Meet the team, shadow customer calls, and start identifying areas where your experience can have an immediate impact
What you'll do in your first 30 days
- Own a meaningful feature or system improvement end-to-end - from design to deployment
- Start shaping technical decisions on architecture, tooling, or infrastructure
- Build relationships with Forward Deployed Engineers and customers to understand where the product needs to go next
What you'll do in your first 90 days
- Take ownership of a core product area (conversational AI, workflows, or integrations) and drive its roadmap
- Lead technical initiatives that ship directly to customers - not internal tools that sit on a shelf
- Help establish engineering best practices and mentor newer engineers as the team scales
- Have a real seat at the table on product and technical strategy as an early engineer at a high-growth company
What You'll Need
- 4+ years of experience in full-stack web development, preferably some at startups
- Deep experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for design
- Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Track record of owning technically challenging, cross-functional projects
- Customer-first mindset - you're interested in talking to users, not just writing code
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Nice to Have
- Experience deploying reliable LLM-based products in production
- Experience with Vite + TanStack technologies (Router/Query/Table)
- Experience with Temporal
- Experience working with data-intensive or real-time applications
What We Offer
- Employee-friendly equity terms
- MacBook Pro, 4K display, and all the accessories
- Regular team events & off-sites
- Daily team dinners provided (Mon–Fri)
- Gym membership
***IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is on-site at our Toronto office*
