About the job

Better Software is investing in healthcare open source. We’re looking for an engineer who understands healthcare workflows and has a track record of building publicly.

You’ll contribute to existing projects, build and maintain our own public tools, and publish technical learnings. The goal is to earn trust through useful software and demonstrated expertise.

You must bring:

Hands-on experience building healthcare software, with knowledge of workflows such as intake, scheduling, clinical documentation, billing, or care coordination.
Familiarity with EHRs and practice management systems, and practical experience with healthcare APIs and interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7 v2.
Meaningful open-source contributions: changes accepted upstream or public projects you maintain for other users.
Strong engineering judgement, independent execution, and clear technical writing.
