About the job

Growth Associate – Growth Squad

Location: Bengaluru, India
Work Mode: On-site / Office-first
Team: Growth Squad
Reporting to: CEO & Vice President

About the Role

Volopay is hiring Growth Associates to join our Growth Squad in Bengaluru.

This is not a conventional graduate role with a fixed checklist or a narrow functional scope. It is an opportunity for early-career builders who want to learn how a company is built from the inside — close to the decisions, experiments, challenges, and opportunities that shape a fast-moving business.

You will work closely with the Founders’ Office and report directly to the CEO and Vice President. You will gain hands-on exposure to how a startup operates — from setting growth priorities and understanding customers to building sales initiatives, solving operational problems, supporting hiring, and turning new ideas into repeatable systems.

The work will be broad by design. One week, you may be running a growth experiment; the next, you could be researching a market, speaking with customers, supporting a commercial project, improving a hiring process, building a content campaign, coordinating a partnership initiative, or solving an operational problem.

If you enjoy figuring things out, taking ownership, and learning by doing, this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

Growth & Business Experiments

  • Test new growth ideas and identify potential acquisition and distribution channels.
  • Improve conversion and analyse what is working and what is not.
  • Run outbound, market, distribution, and process experiments.
  • Turn successful experiments into repeatable systems.

Customer & Market Intelligence

  • Research markets, industries, competitors, and customer segments.
  • Analyse customer conversations and identify meaningful patterns.
  • Translate research and observations into actionable recommendations.
  • Help teams make better decisions with stronger market context.

Sales & Partnerships

  • Support prospecting, account research, and pipeline initiatives.
  • Work on outbound and commercial experiments.
  • Support partner identification and outreach.
  • Learn how companies identify opportunities, communicate value, and build commercial momentum.

Hiring & Community

  • Help identify and engage strong talent.
  • Support campus hiring and community initiatives.
  • Coordinate candidate experiences and improve hiring workflows.
  • Build long-term relationships with candidates, colleges, and communities.

Content & Distribution

  • Turn useful insights into content and campaigns.
  • Support founder-led distribution initiatives.
  • Research, write, coordinate, and experiment with different ways of reaching our target audience.
  • Identify better ways to communicate ideas that matter to our market.

Operations & Product Feedback

  • Identify friction in internal processes and improve workflows.
  • Solve operational problems as they emerge.
  • Gather useful customer and market feedback.
  • Help translate feedback into product and business improvements.

What Ownership Means Here

Your responsibility will not be limited to the project written in your initial brief.

As company priorities change, you may be asked to step into a new problem, coordinate across teams, or take ownership of an important task outside your usual scope.

We care about outcomes, not just completing assigned tasks.

That means:

  • Taking initiative instead of waiting for instructions.
  • Asking the right questions when the problem is unclear.
  • Creating structure from incomplete information.
  • Raising risks early and communicating clearly.
  • Following through until the work is complete.
  • Learning from outcomes and continuously improving.
  • Closing the loop with stakeholders.

Who Will Thrive Here

You will likely be a strong fit if you have:

  • High ownership: You care about outcomes and follow through.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You can work with incomplete information and create clarity.
  • AI-native working style: You use modern AI tools to research, think, create, automate, and learn faster while applying good judgment.
  • Entrepreneurial energy: You enjoy building from zero, testing ideas, and finding ways around constraints.
  • High learning velocity: You actively seek context, accept feedback, and improve quickly.
  • Clear communication: You can make complex or messy work understandable.
  • Bias toward action: You prefer trying, learning, and iterating over waiting for perfect information.
  • Office-first mindset: You value the speed, context, and trust that come from working closely with a small team in person.

What You’ll Get

  • Broad exposure to growth, sales, partnerships, product, operations, hiring, content, and customer research.
  • Direct exposure to how founders and senior leaders make decisions.
  • Meaningful ownership early in your career.
  • The opportunity to ship real work and see the impact of your contributions.
  • Hands-on experience solving real business problems.
  • An AI-native toolkit and working environment designed to help you work faster and more thoughtfully.
  • A high-growth environment where your learning and responsibilities can compound quickly.
  • The opportunity to build practical business skills that extend far beyond a conventional graduate role.

This Role May Not Be For You If

This role may not be the right fit if you are looking for:

  • A tightly defined role with a fixed task list.
  • Extensive step-by-step instructions.
  • A predictable scope that rarely changes.
  • A remote-first working environment.
  • A role where your responsibility ends once an assigned task is completed.

The Growth Squad is intentionally small, hands-on, and office-based. Priorities will change as the business learns, and adapting to those changes is a core part of the opportunity.
