About the job
Wynter is the on-demand market research platform for B2B. We tell companies what their target customers actually think.
Marketing Lead, Wynter
Reports to: CEO
Peers: Sales, Customer Success
Location: Remote
Comp: 75k-100k/USD
The short version
Wynter is a bootstrapped B2B market research platform. About 20 people, profitable, no investors to answer to. Our customers are marketing leaders at mid-market and enterprise B2B companies who use us to test messaging, track brand, and understand their buyers.
We need a growth marketer who has an unreasonable number of ideas and can execute them at speed.
That's this role. You own marketing end to end. One number matters: qualified demos from marketing.
Who we sell to
VPs of Product Marketing and VPs of Marketing at mid-market and enterprise B2B companies. Also CMOs, Directors of PMM, VPs of Brand, and other director-plus marketing leaders.
These are sophisticated buyers who see through generic marketing instantly. Everything you make has to pass the "would a VP of PMM respect this" test.
The north star
Qualified inbound demos, where qualified means ICP fit (right title, right company size, we have their audience). ABM-sourced demos count too. You'll be measured on moving that number, and you'll have the autonomy to decide how.
How the week breaks down
80% marketing sprints. This is the job. You come up with campaigns (the term used loosely, it can be in whatever form) and run them. Start from first principles: how do we get in front of our ICPsVPs of PMM, and how do we do it in a way that doesn't look like everyone else's marketing. Then execute. This includes:
- Campaigns you conceive and ship, start to finish
- ABM into named target accounts
- Content sprints: publishing batches of articles, AI-drafted and human-edited, on topics our ICP actually searches for and asks LLMs about
- Experiments with new channels and formats when there's a real hypothesis behind them
20% ongoing engine. The stuff that keeps the flywheel turning:
- Weekly newsletter (compile and send, about 10 minutes once the system's set up)
- Weekly webinars: book guests, configure, build landing pages, promote, run
- Daily social across our channels
- New release announcements
- LinkedIn thought leader ads and paid campaign management
What you need to be good at
In priority order.
Must be excellent at:
- Copywriting. Hooks, landing pages, ads, emails, posts. You write things people read to the end. This is non-negotiable because everything downstream depends on it.
- Campaign thinking. You generate ideas we haven't tried, and you can tell the difference between a clever idea and one that will actually produce demos. You don't need the CEO to hand you the plan.
- AI leverage. You build automations, agents, and workflows. You vibe code your own tools when off-the-shelf doesn't fit. You use AI to do the work of three people, and you know where it produces slop and where it doesn't.
Must be competent at, and fast to level up:
- SEO and GEO
- Paid: LinkedIn ads primarily, with room to experiment elsewhere
- Content production
- Webinar and event production
- Marketing ops: HubSpot, landing pages, tracking, attribution
How you think
- High standards. Before anything ships you ask "is this good enough, and can it be better?" Usually the answer to the second question is yes, and you act on it.
- Creative on your own. You bring ideas. Lots of them. The CEO will give you direction and feedback, not a to-do list.
- Data-honest. You kill campaigns that don't work, even the ones you loved.
- B2B-native. You understand how enterprise marketing teams buy, what a VP of PMM's week looks like, and why they'd care about us.
What you get
- Full ownership of a function at a profitable company with no board and no committee
- A founder with a real audience and a strong point of view, who will amplify what you make
- Direct access to the CEO, sales, and CS. No layers.
- Budget to run experiments without a six-week approval process
- 35 days paid vacation time
- Once-a-year trip to team offsite, every year in a different country
Experience
3+ years in B2B marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company selling to marketing teams. Bonus points if you've done PMM or worked in a research or insights business.
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send:
- Links to two things you made (campaign, page, sequence, whatever) with the results
- One attention-grabbing idea for how you'd get Wynter in front of more VPs of PMM in your first 90 days
- A link to something you built with AI, no matter how scrappy
What this role actually is
You are an idea machine with AI superpowers. Lots of creative bets, fast execution, quick learning from what works and what doesn't.
Day-to-day, this means:
- Generate a constant stream of marketing ideas—content angles, distribution plays, campaigns, partnerships, stunts, whatever gets attention from B2B marketers and product marketers at SaaS companies
- Execute fast. We don't do 3-week planning cycles. Idea → live → learn. Repeat
- Use AI tools as your default mode of working. Not as a novelty, as infrastructure. You should be building workflows, automating repetitive work, using AI for research, analysis, content creation, and distribution
- Turn Wynter's original research data into attention. We survey hundreds of B2B leaders quarterly. That data is gold. You should see 15 angles where most people see one blog post
- Own content and distribution across LinkedIn, email, partnerships, communities, and channels we haven't thought of yet
- Run experiments constantly. Game shows, creative guerrilla plays, co-marketing, research content, whatever drives awareness and demos
What we're looking for
Creative volume. If someone says "how would you market this?" and you have 3 ideas, this isn't the role. If you instantly have 10 and can get to 30 with some thinking, keep reading. We need someone who naturally overproduces ideas. Not all of them will be good. That's fine. The hit rate improves with volume and iteration.
*AI-native. * You should be spending a billion tokens a month. You tinker with AI tools constantly. You've built automations, workflows, or tools for yourself. You're always thinking about how to scale yourself through AI. If you're not deeply curious about AI and using it daily to work faster, this won't be a fit.
- You don’t just use ChatGPT / Claude “sometimes”. You have fundamentally changed how you work each day using these new tools and can’t go back
- You live far less in browser-based chatbots and far more in terminals or dedicated apps for Claude Code/Cowork and/or OpenAI Codex and/or whatever your favorite is
- You are a systems thinker… you don’t say “Claude write me this blog post” but instead build workflows for research, drafting, writing, editing, distribution prep with you steering. Bonus points if you can show the agents you’ve built to do GTM work
- You’re building and shipping and can show your portfolio of what you’ve created to make your marketing and GTM work better, faster, more capable
- You’re dangerous enough to go from idea to working prototype faster than anyone could possibly believe
- You understand the new discovery layer for companies and products, and how “generative engine optimization” works
- You can orchestrate agents and their tool use as well or better than you use them
- You treat any AI marketing output as “first draft” rather than “final product” but know how to get it across the finish line
- Most important: you are highly self-motivated to learn, play, test, and sharpen your skills both at work and outside of work. If your idea of a finished day is closing your computer after 8 hours, this isn’t a fit
- Bias toward action. You ship things. You don't wait for perfect. You'd rather launch 10 experiments than polish one deck.
- Attention instincts. You understand that attention is currency. You know what makes people stop scrolling, what gets shared, what earns a click. You have a sense for what's interesting versus what's just noise.
- Curiosity about marketing. You don't need 10 years of B2B marketing experience. You do need genuine curiosity about how businesses buy software, what resonates with busy professionals, and why most B2B marketing is forgettable.
What we don't care about
10 years of experience. We care about what you can do, not how long you've been doing something
Channel-specific expertise. "5 years of Facebook Ads" is not a differentiator when AI can manage most of that. We need thinking, not button-pressing.
Fancy degrees or brand-name employers.
Show us your ideas and your work.
