About the job
The opportunity
Something like a quarter of a million American businesses will change hands this decade as their founders retire. Buying them is a $2–20M business with real cash flow, and the people doing it — searchers, independent sponsors, family offices, lower-middle-market PE — are running billion-dollar decisions on spreadsheets and instinct. Every institutional tool ever built stopped one tier above them.
That gap is the whole company.
What's already built
Seven priced products live in production, not in a deck.
The flagship is SERAPH — autonomous cybersecurity due diligence against an acquisition target's public attack surface, returned as a report a first-time CEO can read, in about seventeen seconds. When a searcher buys a founder-run business with undocumented IT, that exposure stays invisible until after close, when it's their problem. If SERAPH can't see enough to judge, it says so and withholds the grade rather than guessing. That choice tells you how this company operates — and it's why the people who've seen it take it seriously.
What's missing is you
I've built the product and the infrastructure. What doesn't exist is a commercial engine. Not a broken one — none. You'd build the first and personally close the first customers.
Here's what makes this rare: the market is finite and reachable. A few thousand active searchers and independent sponsors, most findable by name, most already talking to each other in the same handful of communities. This isn't a demand-generation problem or a brand problem. It's a someone has to go talk to them problem — and if you already know these people, you're starting with an advantage most operators never get.
Every customer you close is the first of its kind. Every playbook you write becomes the company's. You'd be shaping pricing, positioning, and partnerships from a blank page, not inheriting someone else's.
Who I'm looking for
You've personally closed net-new B2B software into acquirers, PE, or search funds — closed it, not managed a team that did. You know 200 lower-middle-market acquirers by name and could email them tomorrow. You've taken something 0→$1M ARR from pre-revenue at least once. You can sit in front of an investor without me in the room.
Compensation — plainly
Founding-level equity in Alethinx, Inc. (Delaware C-Corp), four-year vest, twelve-month cliff, negotiable for the right person. Commission on first-year cash you personally collect — the more you close, the more you take home, with no cap.
No cash base until we raise or reach revenue. We're pre-revenue with zero paying customers today. I'm not going to pretend otherwise, and if that's disqualifying I'd rather you know now than in week three.
How we'd start
A 90-day founding trial against one number: ten paying customers or $25K ARR. Equity granted at the start, cliffing at twelve months — so a wrong fit costs 90 days and zero shares, in either direction. It protects you as much as me.
Talk to me: [email protected] — tell me one deal you closed into this buyer, and how.
