The successful candidate will be comfortable working with computers and electronic documentation, managing multiple priorities, and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Position Summary
As a Remote Medical Clerk, you will provide administrative support for medical records and related healthcare operations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing incoming requests, entering and updating information, organizing electronic documentation, tracking request statuses, communicating with medical facilities, and ensuring that assigned tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong attention to detail, communicates professionally, and can work independently while remaining an effective member of a remote team. Previous healthcare or medical records experience is preferred, but candidates with strong administrative, customer service, data-entry, or office-support backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Process incoming medical records and healthcare-related requests according to established company procedures.
Review requests and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Enter patient, provider, facility, and request information accurately into company databases and workflow systems.
Maintain organized electronic records and ensure documents are properly labeled, uploaded, filed, and routed.
Contact healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and other records custodians when additional information or follow-up is required.
Monitor the status of outstanding records requests and conduct timely follow-ups.
Assist with identifying the appropriate healthcare facility or department responsible for requested records.

Notify appropriate team members when records are incomplete, unavailable, delayed, or require additional action.
Maintain accurate notes documenting telephone calls, emails, requests, follow-ups, and other activities.
Respond to routine inquiries from clients, healthcare organizations, and internal staff in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with scanning, indexing, uploading, organizing, and maintaining electronic documents.
Verify that records and related information are associated with the correct request or case.
Assist with correcting data-entry errors and resolving routine documentation discrepancies.
Track deadlines and prioritize work according to urgency and established service-level requirements.
Prepare basic reports, spreadsheets, status updates, and administrative documentation as requested.
Follow company policies concerning confidentiality, information security, and appropriate handling of medical information.
Escalate complex issues or unusual requests to supervisors or appropriate departments.
Participate in virtual meetings, training sessions, quality reviews, and team activities.
Assist with other administrative and medical-records duties as assigned.
