Senior Software Engineer – RPM/RTM Billing Platform

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) billing systems. This is a highly specialized engineering role focused on building and maintaining production-grade billing, compliance, and audit workflows for healthcare platforms.
This is not a general healthtech engineering role. We are specifically looking for engineers who have built and shipped production systems supporting RPM/RTM reimbursement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain production billing workflows for RPM and RTM programs.
Implement billing logic for CPT codes:

• RPM: 99453, 99454, 99457, 99458
• RTM: 98975, 98976, 98977, 98980, 98981 Develop systems to track:
• Device data transmission thresholds
• Required monitoring days
• Live patient-provider interaction time
• 20-minute billing block accumulation Build compliance and audit infrastructure including:
• Evidence collection and validation
• Gap detection for missing compliance events
• Evidence hashing and immutable audit records
• Device transmission and activity logs Work closely with Product, Clinical Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory adherence. Optimize billing workflows to maximize claim success while maintaining compliance standards. Required Experience 5+ years of backend software engineering experience. Hands-on experience building production RPM or RTM billing systems. Demonstrated implementation of billing workflows for CPT codes:

• 98975–98981 Strong understanding of:
• Device-data day thresholds
• Monthly monitoring requirements
• Interactive communication requirements
• Time-based billing rules
• Compliance validation logic Experience building audit-ready healthcare systems with traceable evidence. Strong backend development experience using technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python, Go, or similar. Experience with SQL databases and distributed backend systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience working at RPM/RTM care coordination platforms. Experience with healthcare billing platforms or reimbursement systems. Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIR. Understanding of HIPAA and secure healthcare data handling. Experience building scalable event-driven systems.
